Over the past couple of months, I have had the chance to experience and learn about cruising. I have to admit, I never wanted to take a cruise. I didn't want to feel trapped on a boat with nothing to do. Bridget always wanted to go, so two years ago, we decided to take a multi-generational cruise. My parents (both in their 60s), myself and my wife (in our 40s) and my sister, her husband and their two kids (ages 16 and 9). We were supposed to go in June 2023, but due to a medical emergency, we were unable to go. We used a travel advisor but did not buy travel insurance. We were way past our final payment date, and we should have gotten a very minimal refund and would have lost a ton of money because we did NOT have travel insurance. After our agent fighting alongside me, we were able to transfer what we paid to a new cruise in July 2024. Lesson learned - GET TRAVEL INSURANCE.
